OUR OCCUPATIONAL THERAPISTS HELP CHILDREN ACHIEVE AGE-APPROPRIATE SKILLS TO ENHANCE THEIR PARTICIPATION IN EVERYDAY LIFE
At Making Waves Pediatric Therapy Clinic, we specialize in infants and children with various neurological, genetic, and developmental disorders. We provide a fun, play-based approach that focuses on improving their attention, behavior and social skills, body awareness, hand-eye coordination, and hand use. We also work with children who have feeding delays. We treat each child as a whole person and help them achieve their highest potential in all areas of development.
Our occupational therapy program offers services for:
- Motor planning, balance, coordination
- Feeding related to oral motor and oral sensory
- Visual motor skills
- Visual perceptual and processing skills
- Sensory processing, related self-regulation, social skills
- Fine motor skills
- Development disabilities
- Handwriting
- Self-care/activities of daily living
- Diagnoses such as developmental delay, autism, torticollis, ADHD, sensory processing disorder, cerebral palsy
For children under two: Ask your pediatrician if your child has difficulty with the following:
- Pointing or poking with index finger
- Turning pages in a book
- Closing lips when swallowing
- Using tongue to move food
- Holding bottle to self feed
- Comforting self or unable to calm
- Looking when their name is called
- Extending arms to familiar people
For children over two: Ask your pediatrician if your child has difficulty with the following:
- Holding crayons
- Beginning to imitate horizontal and vertical lines and circles
- Balancing on one foot briefly
- Beginning toilet training
- Removing loose clothing
- Washing hands independently
- Taking turns
- Eye contact while talking to them
- Playing dress up
- Transitioning calmly between activities
